Free Nursery Hours
Funding for 2 and 3 year olds
The government provides funded childcare to over a million families in the UK. You can find out about all the options online. Visit ChildcareChoices.gov.uk for more information on the support you could receive and don’t miss out on the help you could be entitled to.
Below is a summary of funding options available.
3 and 4 year olds
15 hours free – ALL families are entitled to 15 hours free childcare for their 3 and 4 year old children
30 hours free – Available for eligible families only: Both partners must be working at least 16 hours a week each at the minimum wage.
2 year olds
15 hours free – Available for eligible families only: Both partners must be working at least 16 hours a week each at the minimum wage.
Funding Code
If your child is aged 2 years or above by the end of August and you believe you will be entitled to Working Family Funding for the first time from September, the deadline to apply for your Eligibility Code is 31st August 2024. To obtain a code or to renew your code, if funding is already in place, please visit https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare or call HMRC (0300 123 4097).
